The FaceTime call that started it all came in late fall of 2015. Our grown daughter who could not wait to leave home as soon as she graduated had made plans to move back home to re-group. Oh..and she was bringing her partner with her…if that was ok with us? Oh and…the family dog. Why not?
Its not just us though, lots of other people think it makes perfect sense. According to a government of Canada website 42.3%of adult children ages 20-29 live at home. In the US its close to 14 million adult children that live at home.
This Blog is about our family’s journey into that space. As much as we joke about it, moving in and living together takes a lot of energy. In addition to sharing thoughts on the daily grind of everyday life, we’ll also share resources that we find, and some that we have developed in our quest for harmonious co-operative living.
We welcome your comments! If you have just moved home or are living at home, share what its like to live with your parents as an adult. And if you are a parent, what’s it like to have your kid back? Has your relationship changed or are you stuck in the same parent-child relationship that you used to have?
